We got the numbers, and more! The 1,250-horsepower ZR1X has been through our independent instrumented testing, plus some damp track laps and a drift session. We even dusted the pavement this time. But how quick is it to 60 mph, through the quarter-mile, and around our figure eight course? Is X gon' deliver it to ya? Combining the 5.5-liter twin-turbo V-8 of the rear-drive ZR1 with an enhanced version of the front electric motor from the all-wheel drive E-Ray, the ZR1X promises the ultimate Corvette powertrain, with the Nurburgring lap time to prove it. Watch the video to see the results, because they're not as cut-and-dry as we expected.

This ain’t your uncle’s Cinquecento. While the 500X’s diminutive displacement—1.3 liters—might recall the Fiats of the 1960s, its quasi-SUV body, standard all-wheel drive, and skidplates do not. How does this soft-roader Italian fare at the track?

By all accounts, the Lucid Air Sapphire—the new 1,234-hp track-ready version of our 2022 Car of the Year—should’ve advanced to our PVOTY finalist round. But as is often the case, PVOTY testing reminded us that perception rarely equals reality.

The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is stunningly easy to drive fast, a true cheat code for both road and racetrack. At 4,386 pounds, it outweighs the Mustang Dark Horse and Porsche 911 GT3 RS, yet feels planted, stable, and shockingly quick from behind the wheel. With 815 horsepower, 664 lb-ft of torque, custom Michelin Pilot Cup 2 R tires, and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, the GTD delivers relentless grip, massive stopping power, and confidence through every corner. It matches the GT3 RS on high-speed downforce turns and outperforms it in tight, low-speed corners thanks to its wide tires and advanced rear suspension. On the street, the GTD remains forgiving and composed, with adjustable suspension and active aerodynamics that make it livable. Inside, though, the $325,000 Mustang shows its weak spot — an interior closer to a $40,000 car. Still, Ford has already received far more applications than available build slots for this limited-production machine.

When you put the spurs to the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, a tuned version of Ford’s naturally aspirated Coyote V-8 pushing an even 500 horsepower howls through a standard active exhaust. In our testing, we hustled a manual-transmission-equipped model like the one we had at Chuckwalla to a 0–60-mph time of 4.1 seconds.
