The Jeep Wrangler Commando 392 Is Built for Soldiers, Not Showrooms
The highly limited 2026 Jeep Wrangler Commando 392 by Fox Factory commemorates the 250th anniversary of the U.S. armed forces.Originally built from a brief created by the U.S. Army, the Jeep was born to go where no paths existed and beyond with people and plenty of gear. That original off-roader eventually made it to civilian hands as the CJ and went on to become the Wrangler Jeepers love today. Fox Factory Vehicles—as part of an effort to celebrate American veterans and the 250th anniversary of the U.S. armed forces—has created the ultimate Jeep Wrangler 392 with the Commando. Limited to just 250 units, this is going to be one Jeep you probably won’t be able to buy but neither rarity nor price will be the reason.

That's because it's limited to just 250 examples, 249 of which are reserved for purchase by active U.S. military personnel and veterans. The lone example to be offered to civilians will be made available at auction next May, during Military Appreciation Month. Every dollar raised will go directly to the United Service Organizations (USO), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting American military members that has existed as long as the Jeep has been around.
The Commando 392 is another special collaboration between the Fox Factory and Stellantis, parent company of Jeep. Built off the Wrangler Unlimited with its powerful 392 Hemi V-8 option, it's turned into an even harder-core off-roader with the ruggedness of the U.S. military. This includes adding a 3.5-inch lift kit from JKS Suspension plus a set of Fox Racing 3.0-inch external-reservoir shocks. That 3.5-inch lift provides enough room for four 37-inch Nitto Tire Ridge Grappler mud-terrain tires on 17-inch beadlock capable Jeep wheels in white. A spare tire is still included but mounting moves from the Wrangler’s rear door to a rack located in the cargo area behind the second-row seats. There's also an integrated accessory panel to keep your gear secure and in easy reach while on the trail.
To really drive home the military look, the Commando 392 is sprayed the same color as Jeep's Willys ’41 special edition. This includes painting high-clearance steel fenders fitted to help the Commando better resemble the original Willys GP. The front bumper is converted, as well, and features body-color inserts. The regular hardtop is replaced by a cloth Bimini from Best Top. A set of custom tube doors enhance the open-air vibes while still providing a level of safety. Inside, the factory Jeep Wrangler seats have been re-covered in custom tan leather embroidered with “Commando” accents.
