The radical new 2016 Toyota Prius may be hogging all the attention lately, but the smaller Prius C also aims to stand out for the new model year. A new special edition adds a pop of color to the 2016 Toyota Prius C lineup.

To keep consumers interested in the Prius C, just like it did with the old Prius before its redesign, Toyota is offering a Persona Series model. It comes available exclusively in black paint with a choice of two bold exterior accent colors: Electric Lime and Cherry Pearl. Special badging and 15-inch black alloy wheels finish off the look.

The special edition model is based off the Two, which is one trim level above the base Prius C model. Buyers receive fabric-trimmed two-tone seats, cruise control, a cargo area cover, 60/40 split fold-down rear seats, and six-way adjustable driver's seat on this trim.

Buyers interested in the highlighter-happy Toyota Prius C Persona Series model should act fast, as only 1,500 units will be sold. The limited-run hatch goes on sale in December.

Other than the crazy colors, the 2016 Toyota Prius C is business as usual. It still packs a 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder gas engine and a hybrid system for a total output of 99 hp. But one other key addition to the Prius C lineup for 2016 is the availability of Toyota Safety Sense C. Lane departure assist, automatic high beams, and a pre-collision system are available on models with this system.
