Things we don't know about this upcoming raging bull include almost everything, including the name. However, a few tidbits are clear. Like the Reventón and Veneno before it, the car will be made in tiny numbers. Our sources indicate 20 coupes and just 10 roadsters. Miniscule production numbers like those are in line with precedent, as Lamborghini previously produced 36 Reventóns (21 coupes and 15 roadsters) and 13 Venenos (4 hard-tops, 9 drop-tops).
Also like the previous cars, owning this Lambo will require a big, fat, seven-figure check. The Reventón sold for about $1.5M, while the Venenos cost more than $4.5M. Just guessing here, but I'd expect the new car to cost at least $2M, if not more. Seems as if the whatever-they-call-it will also split the difference in performance of intended function between the Reventón and the Veneno, as well.
The Reventón was famously a Murcielago with a body kit (the Reventón Roadster, which came out two years later in 2009, was a Murci Superveloce LP670-4 with a body kit), whereas the Veneno is said to be (much) more powerful, lighter and more aerodynamic than an Aventador, hence its hefty price tag. Regardless, the new Lamborghini will be based on the Aventador SV LP750-4, but feature about 800 hp (up from 741 in the SV), weigh less, and have even better aero.
We reached out to Lamborghini for comment, and they are denying everything. That's to be expected. The bad news is that they won't be showing the car publically at Pebble Beach, which takes place in mid-August. Wealthy Lambo freaks only, please. Which makes perfect sense. After all, probably 90 percent of possible owners will be at Pebble anyhow. Consider this: the Reventón debuted at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, while the Veneno debuted at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show. As this car seems closer in spirit to the Reventón than the Veneno, don't be too surprised if the newest bull bows in the middle of September, at this year's Frankfurt show.

He’d also try to impart driving wisdom, explaining how the younger you learn to drive, the safer driver you’ll be. “I learned to drive when I was 12 and I’ve never been in an accident.” He also, at least once per month warned, “No matter how good you drive, someday, somewhere, a drunk’s going to come out of nowhere and plow into you.”
When I was very young my dad would strap my car seat into the front of his Datsun 280Z and we’d go flying around the hills above Malibu, near where I grew up. The same roads, in fact, that we now use for the majority of our comparison tests. I believe these weekend runs are part of the reason why I’ve never developed motion sickness, a trait that comes in handy when my “job” requires me to sit in the passenger seats for repeated hot laps of the Nurburgring.
