Ex-Top Gear Hosts Clarkson, May, Hammond Sign With Amazon Prime

The "Top Gear" trio will be back on your screens early next year, as former hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond have signed a deal for a new car show with Amazon Prime. The show will continue to be produced by longtime "Top Gear" producer Andy Wilman, and debuts on Amazon Prime in 2016.

Amazon has not yet shared the name of the new car show, which starts production later this year. The current deal calls for three seasons of the online-only car show.

"I feel like I've climbed out of a bi-plane and into a spaceship," Clarkson said in a statement on the new deal with Amazon.

"Customers told us they wanted to see the team back on screen, and we are excited to make that happen," Amazon Prime Video EU vice president Jay Marine said in a statement.

The BBC fired Clarkson earlier this year after he allegedly assaulted one of Top Gear's producers, and longtime co-hosts Hammond and May said they wouldn't continue filming "Top Gear" without him.

As for the BBC's "Top Gear," after months of rumors and speculation, the broadcaster confirmed that radio and TV personality Chris Evans will take over as host of the show. It's still unknown who else will host the show with Evans.
