BMW and Kith Go Full Rad Heritage With Inka Orange 3.0 CSi and M6 Restorations

BMW and fashion brand Kith are teaming up once again, this time with a new collection of apparel, accessories, and one-off cars that are about as cool as these kinds of collaborations get. This marks the fourth partnership between the two companies, and once again the theme blends BMW heritage with Kith’s distinct color palette and design sensibility.

Ronnie Fieg, the American fashion designer and founder and CEO of Kith, was deeply involved in the project, which includes his personal 1972 BMW 3.0 CSi and 1987 BMW M6 E24 shown here. Both wear Inka Orange paint, an unmistakable throwback to BMWs from the early 1970s. But the real story is in the restoration work and the extraordinary amount of detail inside.

The Kith-ed out BMW 3.0 CSi interior

For the 1972 BMW 3.0 CSi, the body was stripped down to bare metal before putting it through a factory-grade rustproofing immersion process and repainting it. BMW and Fieg oversaw the restoration, and the car was rebuilt using original components sourced from various BMW archives, including the M30 engine, transmission, rear axle, suspension, and brakes.

Inside, the caramel-colored leather upholstery is covered with embossed Kith logos across the seats and door panels, but what stands out most is the craftsmanship. Nearly every surface appears carefully trimmed and finished, creating a cabin that still looks unmistakably 1970s while feeling far more polished and luxurious than the original ever could have.

The restoration also included the gauges, dials, indicator lights, and the dashboard’s mechanical and electrical components. Judging by the photos, the entire center console looks as though it were assembled yesterday using pristine period-correct parts. The level of detail is impressive, especially considering how difficult it can be to make a vintage interior feel fresh without losing its character.

The other car Fieg and team worked on is a 1987 BMW M6 E24, which also wears Inka Orange paint over a caramel interior. Like the 3.0 CSi, the M6 was stripped to bare metal and extensively rebuilt. Its inline-six engine, five-speed manual transmission, differential, suspension, brakes, and wheels were all restored as part of the project.

These two cars are one-offs, but Kith is giving fans a more attainable way to bring part of the collaboration home. The brand is releasing a commemorative 1:18-scale die-cast model of the 3.0 CSi in Inka Orange, which should look right at home on a bookshelf, desk, or office shelf. The broader Kith for BMW collection launches globally on Monday.

The BMW-Kith partnership is not stopping there. The companies have also teased a BMW X5 by Kith on the fashion brand’s Instagram account, and the SUV is expected to be part of the debuts surrounding 2026 Monterey Car Week. In the teaser, the X5 is shown wearing a matte silver finish while sprinting down a closed road.

Previous BMW-Kith collaborations have resulted in limited-production vehicles that customers could actually buy, but it appears this X5 will be different. According to Kith, it is a “one-of-one show car and is not available for purchase.” We’ll have to wait a little longer for the full details, but if the restored 3.0 CSi and M6 are any indication, the X5 should be worth a closer look as well.
