BMW and Kith Built a One-Off X5 for Monterey Car Week

BMW and fashion brand Kith have teamed up several times over the years, producing everything from apparel and accessories to limited-run cars. For the fourth chapter of the partnership, Kith has already shown off restored BMW 3.0 CSi and M6 models finished in Inka Orange. Now, as part of the just-concluded Monterey Car Week, the two brands added a one-off 2027 BMW X5 inspired by the original E53-generation X5.

The new X5 was designed with help from Kith founder and longtime BMW enthusiast Ronnie Fieg. It wears Frozen Silver Metallic paint, a nod to an earlier E53 project by Fieg that was finished in Titanium Silver Metallic.

You find most of the special touches inside. The standard black leather is replaced with upholstery featuring embossed Kith logos on the seats and door panels, while the rear center armrest gets an embroidered K&K Crest. Rear passengers also get Kith-branded pillows, because apparently even the throw cushions needed to be part of the collaboration.

Up front, BMW M Carbon Sport seats replace the standard chairs and carry the same embossed Kith treatment. The result is far more blatant than the exterior changes that are relatively restrained by comparison.

Outside, the biggest giveaways are the Kith badges on the sides and rear, along with a set of 23-inch wheels. Otherwise, this X5 keeps a fairly clean look that helps the Frozen Silver paint do most of the visual work.

This particular build is based on the mild hybrid xDrive40i, which uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six producing 394 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic sends power to all four wheels.

Of course, no one can buy one of these builds. Unlike some previous BMW by Kith collaborations, this X5 is strictly a one-off show car and will not be offered for sale. Everyone else will have to make do with the regular 2027 BMW X5, which is expected to begin rolling out of BMW’s Spartanburg, South Carolina, plant later this year.
