2025 Jeep Wagoneer Overland Special Edition First Look: Jeeping Up the Biggest Jeep
Jeep's large SUV gets a new premium, limited-edition package with off-road goodies included.Overlanding is a word that brings about images of camping and living in the wilderness, far away from anything close to civilization. While most Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators can easily tackle those types of terrain, and their owners are likely familiar with a little car camping off-grid, the same might not be true of many full-size SUVs and their owners. Now with a full-size SUV in its lineup, Jeep's maybe hoping to change that paradigm somewhat, and is introducing a new Overland special edition package for the Wagoneer SUV. It's a purpose-built trim that will take owners further off-road than a regular Wagoneer, or at least do so more capably.

What really sets the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer Overland Special Edition apart from a regular Series II Wagoneer are its real off-roading parts. Try 32-inch all-terrain tires and 20-inch wheels matched by a set of proper steel skid plates and Jeep's Quadra-Lift air suspension, all to help the large land barge float over tough terrain.
The two-speed transfer case ensures that the engine can better ladle its torque to the wheels to get up and over any tough rocks, trail debris, and big inclines thanks to its 48:1 crawl ratio. Further terrain management comes in the form of Selec-Terrain traction management with a new Rock Mode and electronic limited slip differential.
Exterior-wise, what separates the Overland Special Edition from a standard Wagoneer Series II trim is its black painted roof, a first for the Wagoneer (as opposed to the nicer Grand Wagoneer, which offers something similar). This new roof is joined by black exterior highlights like a lower front fascia, wheel flares, headlights, grille, and badging. The roof will also come with roof rail cross bars for proper Overland gear hauling.
Inside, the Wagoneer Overland Special Edition gets seating slathered in Nappa leather, all-weather floor mats, and a tri-pane panoramic sunroof. Entertainment will be handled by a 10.1-inch display running Uconnect 5 with navigation, while a wireless charging pad will allow a front passenger to keep their smartphone charged while providing additional music.
Joining this unique and limited trim and coming for all Wagoneer 4x4 models is Jeep's Off-Road Pages Plus with Adventure Guides. It’s a built-in app that offers over 200 off-road trail guides and Jeep Badge of Honor trails that can also expand to new areas thanks to downloadable maps. You’ll get that free for two years as a trial, but a premium “All Access” membership is free to try for only three months and further expands mapping to thousands of additional trails and over 10,000 waypoints across the North America.
