Buying the same car every four to five years is the automotive equivalent of comfort food—not very exciting, but it’s safe and predictable. Take a risk, however, and you might find your New Favorite Thing. In a way, making the switch to EVs is a great example of how trying something new can pay off. Every new EV owner had to take a chance on an electric car not knowing if they’d like it, often from a brand they’d never experienced.

But what happens when the electric car brand isn’t even a decade old? Or even more concerning, one that won’t even be around much longer, period? Is there a deal big enough for you to consider a car from a brand like that? Two automakers are finding out, and to sweeten things, they’re offering huge incentives as part of the best electric car deals for July 2026, on cars you might want to drive.

A quick note on these deals: They’re correct as of publishing, but availability may vary near you. Check back next month for more EV deals.

006 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Deal: $1,000 Off Plus 0% for 72 Months

The Ioniq 6 sedan is gone, but the Ioniq 5 hatchlike SUV is affordable enough to serve as an alternative. The Ioniq 5’s combination of aggressive pricing, 0 percent financing, $1,000 off, and no payments for 90 days make it an interesting pick before you learn it’s a former SUV of the Year winner.

There’s not much risk with this choice; just know that like many electric SUVs, the base trim has much lower range and power than the higher trims.

026 2026 Lucid Gravity Grand Touring

2026 Lucid Gravity Deal: $10,000 Off Plus 0% for 72 Months

In the months we’ve been tracking Lucid Gravity deals, they’ve never been this good. Offering 10 grand on top of 0 percent financing for 72 months on the Touring and Grand Touring trims is a great way to get our attention. And a definite way to land onto the MotorTrend list of the best electric car deals for July.

The risk here is purchasing what, in our evaluations, felt like an unfinished SUV. When we tested the Gravity, the two- and three-row SUV experienced lots of glitches, and there were a couple questionable design choices. As you’d expect from a Lucid, though, the Gravity has exceptional driving dynamics, charges quickly, and is more spacious than you think.

So if you’re the type of buyer who craves a new experience and doesn’t mind more bugs than the average luxury car (ask us how we know), the Gravity could be worth trying.

020 2024 Kia EV9 GT Line

2026 Kia EV9 Deal: $5,000 Off Plus 0% for 60 Months

Three-row SUV customers who’ve never experienced an electric car might not be familiar with the key advantages of an electric version like the EV9.

The Kia was one of the first electric three-row SUVs on the market and benefits from the same pluses all EVs have: quiet operation around town, smooth acceleration, and—if you’re fortunate enough to have a home charging setup—recharging as easy as plugging in overnight and unplugging in the morning. It’s something no gas car can match.

011 2025 Polestar 3 Performance Pack 2 Motor

Polestar: Really? That Much Off?

Talk about taking a risk to score a good deal, Polestar has incredible offers now that the brand is leaving the U.S. market. Our focus here is on the Polestar 3, the beautiful but flawed midsize SUV. If you like to drive and want something different, the 3 is an interesting choice.

We can’t in good conscience recommend a car whose brand is exiting the market, but we still want to highlight a couple of Polestar deals currently offered. Lease deals exist, as well, but make sure to compare lease deals from other brands before committing.

Polestar 3: $23,000 off plus 4.99% for 72 months.

Polestar 4: $18,000 off plus 0% for 60 months.

Not impressed? Remember that the 3 starts at nearly $70,000 and the 4’s MSRP begins at just under $60,000.

I’ve come a long way since I drove sugar packets across restaurant tables as a kid, pretending they were cars. With more than 17 years of experience, I'm passionate about demystifying the new car market for shoppers and enthusiasts. My expertise comes from thoughtfully reviewing countless vehicles across the automotive spectrum. The greatest thrill I get isn’t just from behind the wheel of an exotic car but from a well-executed car that’s affordable, entertaining, and well-made. Since about the time I learned to walk I’ve been fascinated by cars of all shapes and sizes, but it wasn’t until I struggled through a summer high school class at the Pasadena Art Center College of Design that I realized writing was my ticket into the automotive industry. My drive to high school was magical, taking me through a beautiful and winding canyon; I've never lost the excited feeling some 16-year-olds get when they first set out on the road. The automotive industry, singing, and writing have always been my passions, but because no one seeks a writer who sings about the automotive industry, I honed my writing and editing skills at UC Irvine (zot zot!), serving as an editor of the official campus newspaper and writing stories as a literary journalism major. At USC, I developed a much greater appreciation for broadcast journalists and became acquainted with copy editing rules such as why the Oxford comma is so important. Though my beloved 1996 Audi A4 didn’t survive my college years, my career with MotorTrend did. I started at the company in 2007 building articles for motorcycle magazines, soon transitioning to writing news posts for MotorTrend’s budding online department. I spent some valuable time in the copy editing department, as an online news director, and as a senior production editor. Today, MotorTrend keeps me busy as the Buyer's Guide Director. Not everyone has a career centered on one of their passions, and I remind myself all the time how lucky I am.
