2027 Chevrolet SUVs: What’s In, What’s Out, What’s Changed

Chevrolet enters 2027 with one of the broadest SUV lineups on the market, ranging from affordable subcompact crossovers to three-row family haulers, full-size body-on-frame rigs, and a growing slate of EVs. Most models return with modest equipment, trim, and charging updates, but there are a few notable exceptions.

The Bolt rejoins the lineup after a hiatus, the gas-powered Blazer appears set to skip a model year before returning for 2028, and several other nameplates receive small but meaningful revisions. Read on for everything changing across the 2027 Chevrolet SUV lineup.

The Blazer EV adopts a native NACS charge port, along with updated charge-station communication equipment. Chevrolet is also reshuffling its charging accessories: Level 2 and DC fast-charging adapters are available through new Charging Essentials and Premium Charging packages, while J1772 AC, CCS1 DC, and PowerShift AC adapters remain available separately. GM’s previous NACS DC and Level 2 adapters have been discontinued.

Exterior changes are mostly cosmetic. White Sands joins the paint palette as Galaxy Gray Metallic and the Summit White roof are dropped. The Comfort and Convenience package swaps its satin aluminum-finish roof rails for high-gloss black pieces, SS models get new 22-inch wheels, and the LT’s standard wheels change from a machined-face design to painted bright silver. LT mirror caps are now black rather than body-colored, and all models adopt a gloss-black shark-fin antenna.

Inside, the Super Cruise package now includes a Bose eight-speaker premium audio system. SS models also get a revised perforation pattern for their seat inserts, and several accessories and appearance packages disappear, including the All-Weather Mat and Black Illumination packages, optional all-weather floor- and cargo mats, and the cargo-carrier mount.

The Bolt returns for 2027 after a three-model-year absence, essentially picking up where the old Bolt EUV left off rather than starting from scratch. The revived EV uses the EUV’s basic structure but gains a 210-hp motor and a 65-kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery good for 262 miles of EPA-rated range.

Its biggest improvement is charging: Peak DC fast-charging speed rises to more than 150 kW, and a native NACS port provides direct access to compatible Tesla Superchargers. Available Super Cruise and new 11.3-inch and 11.0-inch displays further modernize the cabin.

Also new is an RS trim, which adds mostly cosmetic upgrades including black 17-inch wheels, RS badging, red-stitched seats, and ambient lighting. In MotorTrend testing, the new Bolt remained quick enough and impressively affordable, although its busy ride and 217-mile highway range reinforce its strengths as a commuter more than a road-trip EV.

Changes to the 2027 Equinox are modest. Autumn Harvest Metallic joins the exterior color palette, while Cacti Green is dropped. Front-wheel-drive models switch from a CVT to a new eight-speed automatic transmission, and the available Safety and Technology package adds Connected Cameras capability later in the model year. Inside, the RS trim’s Black with Red Accents cabin now uses Torch Red stitching exclusively, replacing the previous mix of Torch Red and Santorini Blue.

Like the Blazer EV, the 2027 Equinox EV adopts a native NACS charge port, opening direct access to compatible Tesla Superchargers, while available CCS and J1772 adapters preserve compatibility with other public and home chargers. Chevrolet drops the previously available 19-kW AC charging capability, as well as bidirectional charging.

Elsewhere, White Sands paint joins the palette as Galaxy Gray Metallic disappears, a new Black Sport package adds a darker look, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system is newly available.

The 2027 Suburban follows its 2025 refresh with mostly packaging and equipment changes. White Sands paint joins the palette on RST and Z71 models, replacing the discontinued Cypress Gray, and new 20-inch high-gloss black wheels and Adventure accessory packages are available. The RST also gains standard heated and ventilated front seats with four-way power lumbar adjustment, and its Capability package now includes the Max Trailering package.

Chevrolet reshuffles several higher-end option packages, too. The Advanced Technology package becomes available with the Duramax diesel on LT and RST models and is newly offered on the Premier, while Super Cruise is included with the High Country Deluxe package regardless of engine. Premier and High Country models also see changes to how trailering equipment, rear-seat entertainment, and other features are bundled.

The lineup loses the rear-wheel-drive High Country, along with the LS Custom Edition and several accessories. The rear-seat entertainment system no longer includes Bluetooth headphones, and Chevrolet drops several dealer-installed accessories, including certain center caps, the Interior Protection package, and first- and second-row all-weather floormats. Black wheel locks and a few other appearance accessories remain available separately.

The 2027 Tahoe largely mirrors the closely related Suburban’s updates, with changes confined mostly to packaging and equipment rather than major mechanical revisions. White Sands paint joins the lineup on select trims, the RST gains standard heated and ventilated front seats with four-way power lumbar adjustment, and the Capability package now includes the Max Trailering package. The Advanced Technology package is also newly available with the Duramax diesel on LT and RST models and is offered on Premier for the first time.

Chevrolet also reshuffles higher-end equipment. Super Cruise is included with the High Country Deluxe package regardless of engine, while trailering hardware, rear-seat entertainment, and some powertrain choices are more tightly bundled with option packages on Premier and High Country. The Z71 adds available 20-inch high-gloss black wheels.

Smaller deletions include the two-wheel-drive High Country, Cypress Gray paint, the LS Custom Edition, several dealer-installed appearance and protection accessories, and the Bluetooth headphones previously bundled with the rear-seat entertainment system.

Chevrolet hasn’t released full details for the 2027 Trailblazer, but the small SUV is expected to return largely unchanged. Minor trim, color, and packaging adjustments are likely, with the current powertrain lineup carrying over. A short model-year run is also possible ahead of more substantial changes for 2028, but for now the 2027 Trailblazer appears to be a mostly carryover proposition.

The 2027 Traverse gets mostly cosmetic and equipment updates. Twilight Blue and Trillium Green Metallic join the paint palette, replacing Stardust Metallic and Lakeshore Blue Metallic. Z71, High Country, and RS trims each receive revised standard wheel designs, while LT models gain new 20-inch wheel options through the Sun and Wheel package and Midnight/Sport Edition. Inside, an available interior camera is the only new feature.

Chevrolet hasn’t released full details for the 2027 Trax, but spy photos suggest the affordable subcompact SUV could receive a midcycle refresh. Changes appear likely to include revised exterior styling and updates to the instrument panel, although powertrain and equipment details remain under wraps. Until Chevrolet reveals the 2027 model, consider those updates preliminary.

The gas-powered Blazer appears set to skip the 2027 model year. Production of the 2026 Blazer is expected to end in Mexico in September 2026 as the automaker prepares to shift assembly of the SUV to its Spring Hill, Tennessee, plant.

The gas Blazer isn’t gone for good, though. Chevy says it will return as “new and improved” once production moves to Tennessee, with current reports indicating that vehicle will be a 2028 model and production will begin in May 2027. Details about how extensively the Blazer will change have yet to be announced.
