Lexus’ 2027 car lineup is smaller but no less interesting, with one sedan entering its second year after a major redesign and another receiving a limited special appearance package. Two longtime nameplates bow out after 2026, and an all-electric performance car offers a glimpse of what may follow. Read on for the details.

The redesigned ES carries over unchanged for 2027 after making its debut late in the previous model year. It grows in length, width, and height, with a longer wheelbase and new multilink rear suspension that contributes to a smoother, more settled ride while preserving the ES’ comfort-first character.

The ES also expands beyond its traditional hybrid powertrain with available all-electric ES350e and ES500e models. Across the lineup, highlights include a higher seating position, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 14.0-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Lexus Safety System+ 4.0.

The IS mostly carries over for 2027 after receiving a significant refresh the previous year. The compact sport sedan remains available exclusively as the 311-hp IS350, with F Sport Design and F Sport trims offering rear- or all-wheel drive.

New for 2027 is a limited Special Appearance package based on the IS350 F Sport. Limited to 350 North American cars, it adds Envious Green paint, black 19-inch forged BBS wheels, green-stitch NuLuxe upholstery with suede inserts, and features such as the Handling and Technology packages, triple-beam headlights, a panoramic camera, and 17-speaker Mark Levinson audio.

Lexus LFA: Future model

Lexus is reviving the LFA name for a new all-electric sports car, though the vehicle remains a concept without a confirmed production timeline, pricing, or specifications. The two-seat coupe is being developed alongside Toyota’s GR GT and GR GT3, sharing their focus on low weight, high rigidity, a low center of gravity, and advanced aerodynamics.

The LFA Concept’s flowing shape and driver-focused cockpit reinterpret the original V-10 supercar for the electric era. Lexus says the project is intended to preserve the craft and excitement of traditional sports car development while exploring what a high-performance battery-electric Lexus can be.

Lexus LC: Discontinued

The Lexus LC was a grand tourer first and a sports car second, a philosophy that defined the entire lineup, from the V-8-powered coupe and convertible to the less engaging LC500h hybrid. Every version combined concept car styling, a beautifully crafted cabin, and effortless high-speed comfort with compromises such as significant weight, limited rear-seat and trunk space, and handling that could feel short of true sports car sharpness.

The LC500 was the standout, pairing a naturally aspirated V-8 with a rich soundtrack and smooth, linear power delivery. It was never the newest or quickest car in its class, and its technology and 10-speed transmission showed their age, but its sense of occasion was difficult to match.

After a single-generation run, the LC ends production following the 2026 model year, leaving behind one of the most distinctive and genuinely aspirational cars Lexus has ever built.

Lexus LS: Discontinued

Across five generations, the Lexus LS stayed true to a clear mission: deliver serene, meticulously built flagship luxury at a lower price than the established German sedans. The final-generation LS continued that tradition with a quiet cabin, comfortable ride, spacious rear seat, strong build quality, and available technology such as Lexus Teammate’s advanced driver assistance system.

It also showed where Lexus had fallen behind. The twin-turbo V-6 never felt as special as the engines in its rivals, the car was less engaging to drive, and its infotainment and interior design grew dated over time. The LS500h hybrid added efficiency but not enough performance or refinement to fundamentally change the car’s character.

For 2026, Lexus reduced the lineup to 250 LS500 AWD Heritage Edition sedans, closing the book on the flagship that established the brand in 1989.
