With trucks now playing a larger role in daily life owners have demanded more comfort and luxury. And manufacturers have answered. In 2002 GMC launched the Sierra Denali, claiming the luxury pickup space as its own. A decade later, Ram debuted its range-topping Limited trim, setting the bar for the class almost unfathomably high. In the years that have followed many have attempted to best Ram with ever-fancier pickups and it can be argued that most if not all have fallen short.

Now, for 2025, Ram has updated its 1500 pickup—you can read our first drive review and see plenty more photos here—and once again raised the standard for luxury pickups with its all-new Tungsten trim. Let's take a look inside the top-spec 2025 Ram 1500.

There Are Nearly No Options

For those who like a lot of choice, the Tungsten might be a tough sell—the trim leaves little open to discussion. The model is available only as a crew-cab with four-wheel drive and the shorter 5-foot, 7-inch bed. Under the hood is the high-output SST twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter I-6 engine that produces 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque and shuttles it through an eight-speed automatic transmission, an electronic on-demand transfer case, and a 3.92:1 axle ratio. Active-level four-corner air suspension is also standard.

2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten models come outfitted with a dual-pane power sunroof, as well. The new 14.5-inch Uconnect infotainment screen and 10.25-inch passenger display keep occupants informed and entertained, while the driver has access to a new 10.0-inch head-up display along with digital rearview mirror and 12.0-inch gauge cluster screen. A Surround View 360-degree camera supplements other safety features such as adaptive cruise control, active lane management, drowsy driver detection, evasive steering assist, intersection collision warning, traffic sign recognition and more.

Autonomous parallel and perpendicular park assist and Ram's new Hands-Free Drive Assist are also part of the Tungsten package.

Your Smartphone Is the Key

The Ram Tungsten also comes with the ability to utilize an Apple or Android smartphone as a key. Digital keys can be created and shared with other users and a physical NFC-based smart card serves as a backup. Fret not, the truck still comes with a standard fob as well, and it has been designed to match the truck's luxury styling.

Among the few options, Ram Box bedside storage remains an extra as does the multifunction tailgate. Tungsten models with the conventional tailgate have a standard power lift and lower feature. Trailering hardware is also strangely optional, and includes an integrated brake controller, trailer reverse steering control, trailer auto hitch assist, and tow mirrors, among a few other items.

Unsurprisingly, Ram's 4x4 Off-Road Group equipment package, which includes gear such as skid plates, off-road tuned dampers, and tow hooks, is not available for the Tungsten. However, you can get knobby all-terrain tires for the truck's 22-inch wheels should the desire exist.

Opulence Reigns Supreme

Taking a chapter out of the Grand Wagoneer's playbook, the Tungsten's interior is properly upscale; of particular note are the 24-way adjustable driver and passenger seats. The seats are heated, ventilated, and swathed in quilted leather with bronze contrast stitching and piping. The leather-wrapped headrests are four-way electronically adjustable. Seat adjustment switchgear has been moved to the door panel.

The leather doesn't stop at the seating surfaces. Nearly every soft-touch surface inside the Ram 1500 Tungsten is covered in hide including the rear surfaces of the front seats, the door panels, center console lid, dashboard, steering wheel, and steering wheel airbag cover. The A- and B-pillars, visors, and headliner are wrapped in suede. The grab handles have a signature leather wrap, as well.

Crystal and Diamond Accents

The detail, depth, and ornamentation inside the Ram Tungsten is at a level once reserved solely for flagship luxury sedans. The truck's Indigo and Sea Salt interior color scheme adds new platinum patina semi-bright dual-texture metal accents through the cabin, along with diamond weave genuine carbon fiber. A crystal Tungsten badge on the console lid features inlaid metal lettering and diamond knurling while proudly displaying the truck's vehicle identification number. And a unique crystal-effect rotary shifter center cap and metal pedal kit further enhance the premium look and feel.

1,228-Watt Klipsch Audio System

The Ram 1500 Tungsten's most impressive party piece is its standard Klipsch audio system. This 23-speaker thumper includes a 12-inch enclosed subwoofer, a pair of one-inch titanium-dome tweeters, and a best-in-class 1,228-watt amplifier. Of those 23 speakers, the headliner houses four embedded full-range units that work with the company's DJX 3D Surround algorithm to create an immersive experience. Each of the cab's four doors has a 6x9-inch midbass driver, while a trio of 3.5-inch coaxial speakers are equally spaced across the instrument panel to create an impressive soundstage.

Enclosed 3.5-inch coaxial speakers are embedded in the rears of the driver and front-passenger seats, keeping rear seat occupants sonically engaged. The Reference Premier audio system is not only the first automotive application from Klipsch but also employs the only P4 speakers in a pickup. Metal speaker grilles with dual-etched diamond shaped openings add rugged elegance that integrates well with the diamond knurling patterns found throughout.

The Klipsch Reference Premier audio system may be over the top but it's also simply the best audio system we've ever sampled in a pickup. It has enough power to get loud and the control to maintain clarity throughout the full range. Bass from the subwoofer is deep but not overpowering. And adjustments to the equalizer are easy to make without any of the gimmicks found in other systems. It just simply works.

Is It All Worth It?

With a starting price of $89,150, the 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten is more expensive than the 2024 Ford F-150 Limited ($86,905) and 2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate ($84,990). Driving the 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten is an experience unlike any other, though, which may be justification enough for the extra outlay.

Sliding into the driver seat, you'll note it's as soft and supple—not to mention as comfortable and supportive—as it is good looking. With 24-way adjustability, finding the perfect position can take some trial and error, but once dialed in the memory function ensures your perfect fit remains stored. Speaking of adjustability, moving the seat controls to the door panel not only makes moving the seat easier but also brings to mind high-end German luxury brands.

Entertainment and Information Overload

The new 14.5-inch Uconnect infotainment screen is bright, crisp, and easy to navigate. And thanks to the truck's new Atlantis electrical architecture, it is incredibly quick and responsive as well. With the upgrade over lesser Ram 1500's 12.0-inch screen comes the loss of some physical buttons, namely those located above and below the screen. Ram did retain the driver and passenger HVAC buttons along with radio controls, traction control, and lane keep assist, however.

Screen overload is in full effect inside the Ram Tungsten, with more than 50 inches of combined available digital real estate. We love the integration of the 12.0-inch driver information screen and the multitude of different displays and widgets that it can display. The 10.0-inch head-up display is a bit on the small side (GMC offers a 15.0-inch HUD in Sierra), particularly for aging eyes, although we do appreciate the customization available through the central Uconnect screen. On the passenger side we're still torn on the usefulness of the 10.25-inch dash display, although viewing feeds from the exterior cameras is fun for riders.

A Quiet Sanctuary

When you're not in the mood for cranking the tunes, the Ram Tungsten's cabin provides a quiet and relaxing environment. Through copious sound deadening techniques and active noise cancellation, the truck's interior is nearly dead quiet while traveling down the highway.

Other than the slightest bit of wind and road noise, along with the occasional hint of turbo whistle on acceleration, one could easily mistake this half-ton pickup for a far more expensive vehicle. And we can't thank Ram enough for not pumping augmented engine noise into the cabin; other manufacturers, please take notice.

And the Verdict Is …

Ram has certainly outdone itself with the 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten, elevating the luxury pickup to even loftier heights. The brand pulled out all the stops, held nothing back, and executed an exceedingly luxurious interior that maintains a class and charm not always seen in pickup trucks. Best of all, the truck gives up none of its ability to tow, haul, and generally do truck stuff in the pursuit of opulence.
