Land Rover is getting mighty ambitious, and we're not just talking about the Range Rover Evoque convertible and rumored sub-Evoque crossover. Let's have a look at what Land Rover's future may hold for upscale SUV customers everywhere.

Potentially one of the most significant variants is the three-row Range Rover Evoque. For those who don't want a Range Rover Sport or don't want the three-row Land Rover LR4, an extra-large Range Rover Evoque could keep buyers within the automaker's family. We've previously reported on thesub-Evoque crossover, which could carry a price below that of the 2013 Evoque's newly lowered $41,995 MSRP. And it's impossible to forget about theEvoque convertible, which can be seen in concept form below.
Land Rover hasn't forgotten about the LR2 (known as the Freelander outside of the U.S. ), which may be redesigned infive-andseven-seatbody styles, in addition to anentry-level LR2that could lower the price of entry into the Land Rover lineup. A new and far more efficient LR4 (the Discovery in other markets) is coming in the next few years, as well.
Then there's theDefender. Land Rover has struggled to determine what direction to take the legendary nameplate in the 21st century, and not too long ago we heard that the next Defender may even be sold in the U.S. Citing plans from Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern, theAutocarreport says that along with aDC100-like SUV, the next Defender may be sold infive-andseven-seat versionsplus our favorite part of this Land Rover prediction report: acrew-cab truck.
It's difficult to imagine a Land Rover lineup that stretches from a Defender crew-cab truck to anextended-wheelbaseRange Roverflagship SUV, but the automaker may have a lineup to satisfy nearly every luxury SUV buyer imaginable. That is, if Land Rover actually follows through with the niche-busting plans suggested in this report.
Which of the potential Land Rover models above would you most like to see in the U.S.?
