This Rolls-Royce Wraith Video Required 100 DSLR Cameras

If you love learning how movie magic is made, you'll probably appreciate this behind-the-scenes clip for the Rolls-Royce Wraith launch video, which featured a scene produced using an array of 100 Nikon digital SLR cameras.

The two-minute commercial starts off fairly tame, with Rolls-Royce's new coupe barreling through a dark forest. As the Wraith passes a mansion, however, we enter a Matrix-like bullet time as the camera circles the car while a woman strikes the classic Flying Lady pose. As the video shows, this shot required 35 computers, 1.5 kilometers of cable, and Europe's largest DSLR array. The images captured by the 100 cameras were edited into a "time slice" shot lasting all of four seconds on screen. The resulting footage is impressive, especially when digitally touched up and put to dramatic music.
