Tesla Will Offer Businesses Unbranded Superchargers for Supplementing Their Income
If you’re a business looking to add an EV charging station to your property, Tesla will meet your needs. While EVs are slowing in sales for a variety of reasons, there is no denying the ongoing need for improved infrastructure to support these electric cars. Now, Tesla is making it easier for businesses to help expand that infrastructure with Superchargers for Business, a program whereby to purchase, install, and become part of the large EV-charger ecosystem introduced by Tesla. These white label Superchargers will also be unbranded so you can add them to your charger station with your own branding and without advertising for Tesla.

Tesla’s Supercharger network is the most prolific in the U.S. and has a good reputation for being reliable whenever your EV needs a quick charge. That’s part of the selling point for Superchargers for Business—the package includes maintenance, network operations, and other support with a 97-percent reliability guarantee. As for the Superchargers’ “white labeling,” this a business practice where one company will manufacture or offer a product/service but allow another business to rebrand it. This is a common thing within the automotive industry, even if you don’t realize it.
You don’t even need to install the Superchargers yourself, as Tesla will work with an installer of your choosing, and it will guide you throughout the process. What’s more, you can monitor use, adjust the pricing, and track how much your Supercharger station is bringing in. Once your station is online, it will pop up as part of the Tesla Supercharger network for people to find and use.
For now, there is only one Supercharger post (the part where the plug lives) and two Supercharger cabinets (the part where the energy is supplied to the posts) available. The post is the V4 standard that can provide up to 500 kW of charging with up to 1,000 volts supplied to the 9.8-foot charging cable. The V4 post is also able to have a payment terminal installed, and your customers don’t necessarily need the Tesla App to begin charging. The Supercharger cabinets available are the V4 that supplies up to 1,200 kW with support for up to eight posts at up to 1,000 volts. The other is the V3 that supplies up to 387 kW for up to four posts at up to 500 volts.
