Report: Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 Coming to L.A. Show

A leaked company document reveals that the rear-wheel-drive Lamborghini Huracán rumored to debut at the 2015 Los Angeles auto show will be called LP 580-2. Rumored to list for around $205,000, the rear-drive model is significantly lighter than the standard Lamborghini Huracán (pictured), as it's intended to be a more purist model.

According to the document, power in the Huracán's 5.2-liter V-10 will be down from the regular car's output of 602 hp to 571 hp, with torque falling from 412 lb-ft to 398 lb-ft. However, by deleting the all-wheel-drive system and using small brakes and wheels, the LP 580-2 tips the scales at just 3,062 lb, compared to 3,134 lb for the regular Huracán coupe. The 0-to-62-mph sprint takes a claimed 3.4 seconds, equal to the Huracán Spyder but 0.2 second slower than the coupe, and the car tops out at 199 mph.

To shed more weight, the Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2 will reportedly use 19-inch wheels instead of the 20s on other Huracán models, and smaller steel brakes with 14.4-inch front rotors rather than the standard car's carbon ceramics with 15.0-inch front rotors.
