Joe Biden Unleashed Dark Brandon in This Beast—and You Could Have Bought It

Writer

Update February 21, 2024: And it's sold. The winning bid for the ATS-V came in with less than a minute left and stuck to the end for $77,776.

It's not all that often that you get the chance to purchase a vehicle owned or leased by a state leader (although Donald Trump's Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster did just go to auction). But that chance has come, and if you're lucky you might win President Joe Biden's 2018 Cadillac ATS-V sedan. Even without its very famous previous owner, the ATS-V is clean and a desirable sport sedan in its own right that Biden owned after his vice presidency.

Black Raven adds a sinister—dare we say, dark?—look to the ATS-V, but the fact is that black is just a color that works for any Caddy sedan. The bronze CT4-V Blackwing wheels, wrapped in Michelin summer-tread tires in 255/35R18 front and 275/35R18 rear, add a nice contrast to the black-on-black body of this 2018 ATS-V. This tire and wheel set were installed in March of 2022 according to its service record, so this wasn't done when it was owned by President Biden. The original 18-inch ATS-V wheels are included in the sale, too.

There's also that unmistakable heat extractor vent rising from the hood to signify that this is no ordinary ATS. As an ATS-V, it is powered by GMs LF4 3.6-liter twin-turbo V-6 backed by the 8L90 eight-speed automatic. Lift the hood and you'll find a dealer-installed carbon fiber engine cover on top of this powerful V-6 engine. Looking again at its service history, its oil pan was replaced in December of 2022, but the ATS-V appears otherwise mechanically sound and regularly serviced during and after President Biden's lease.

The exterior features black chrome trim, another dealer-installed option, but the dark Cadillac badging and rear bumper trim are aftermarket. The original pieces are included. Bringing this Presidential ATS-V to a stop is a set of factory Brembo brakes with six-pistons up front and four in the rear and painted in its iconic red hue.

However, what really sets this 2018 ATS-V apart other than its previous lessee is the interior. It's the only 2018 ATS-V in the world that came factory equipped with the Kona Brown leather to contrast that Jet Black and natural sapele wood interior. This has been confirmed by Cadillac, and was a request from future President Biden himself. Whatever you think of the guy, his taste in car aesthetics seems good. Other interior features include magnesium paddle shifters, the Luxury and Safety packages, the Security Package, and MagneRide suspension.

If you're the lucky winner, the documentation proving its presidential history will be included. As of this writing (this story has since been updated with the final bid!), there are six days left to bid and the current bid is under $30,000. But we won't be surprised to see it going for much more than that by the time the virtual gavel drops.
