One-Off Ferrari F12 TRS Roadster Shown at Ferrari Cavalcade

Writer

A one-off Ferrari F12 TRS was on hand at the third annual Ferrari Cavalcade in Sicily. Based on the hardtop Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, the F12 TRS was custom-built at the request of a client as a throwback to the no-frills barchetta or open-top racers of the 1940-1960s, particularly the 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa.

Like the mid-engine Ferrari 458 Italia, a clear panel in the hood of the front-engine Ferrari F12 TRS show off the roadster's 731-hp, 508-lb-ft 6.3-liter V-12's red valve covers. Ferrari claims the F12 TRS will match the F12 Berlinetta's 0-62 mph time of 3.1 seconds and its 0-124 mph time of 8.5 seconds. In our testing, the F12 Berlinetta reached 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and finished the quarter-mile in 11.3 seconds at 131.7 mph.

With the roof permanently removed, the F12 TRS features a low, wraparound windshield, which flows into the door glass that tapers toward the rear to meet the edges of the speedster fairings aft of the headrests. The exterior paint is a modern interpretation of Ferrari's traditional Rosso Corsa color.

Inside, the interior has been stripped of non-essential equipment including the glove box, central air vents, floor mats, audio system, window controls, and storage pockets. The F12 TRS also features simpler air conditioning controls. The interior is finished in black matte carbon fiber, leather, and Alcantara, while the center tunnel and door panels are finished in red paint.
