Don't Settle for Boring! Here Are Some of the Most Colorful Car Interiors Available
Wacky factory interiors don't have to cost you Rolls-Royce money. Not everyone wants a car with a typical black- or tan-colored interior. And gray? Boring! Fortunately, one needn't spend billionaire cash on an ultra-luxury vehicle from Bugatti or Rolls-Royce to nab an interesting, colorful interior. (Although, if you have the means . . . it's pretty easy to find off-color carpeting, upholstery, and trim in the six-figure range.) Plenty of mainstream automakers offer brightly colored interiors on their attainable rides, too. We've gathered a few of our favorites below:
2020 Volvo XC40
The Volvo XC40 isn't like the other (larger) cars in the Volvo lineup. Eschewing the stately look of its siblings, the baby crossover features a boxy exterior design and a funky interior loaded with clever storage bins. Want to really kick things up a notch? Go for the optional "Lava" carpet, which has an unconventional bright orange hue that brings new, literal angle to the childhood game of "the carpet is lava!" Available for $100 on the R-Design trim, the bright orange carpet covers the floor, door inserts, and sides of the center console tunnel. Love it or hate it, the carpet makes this crossover stand out from the competition.
2020 Chevrolet Corvette
MotorTrend's 2020 Car of the Year delivers the performance you'd expect from a supercar for a fraction of the price. The eighth-generation, mid-enginedCorvette also has a stylish interior that can be customized in countless ways. Red, blue, or—yes, even tan leather? Orange or yellow seatbelts? The choice is yours. See how we'd configure our dream Corvettes here. Combined with the Vette's adventurously styled interior, with its waterfall of climate controls between the seats and square-rimmed steering wheel, these funky color schemes can really make the C8 cabin pop.
