Next Generation Acura NSX Canceled - NSX Almost Made It

Dear to our hearts, even if a few digits too big for our wallets, the next-generation Acura NSX was still going to be a fun, technological juggernaut of a car. We say "was" because the angular supercar is another victim of the harsh fiscal environment in the automotive industry.

Honda CEO Takeo Fukui announced in his end-of-year speech that all development of the supercar has been canceled as part of a restructuring effort inside the company.

Honda was developing a V-10 engine for the NSX, which would have made it the most powerful production car the company had ever built. However, Fukui will now focus on developing a hybrid powertrain instead, aiming to achieve mass-market penetration as soon as possible. Furthermore, rumors are there will be no S2000 in the '10 product year, rather an '11 S2000-esque roadster will be rebranded under the Acura nameplate.
