How Much Is a Lucid? Here's a Price Breakdown
The U.S. EV automaker is hoping its premium Air sedan and Gravity SUV will be priced right in a tough market.

EV demand has been in a bit of a funk in recent months, and as a result, automakers have been cutting production and sales projections and slashing prices in an effort to move more vehicles. It couldn't have come at a worse time for U.S. EV startup Lucid Motors, who has been slowly ramping up production and broadening out the lineup of its all-electric Air sedan (our 2022 MotorTrend Car of the Year), only to be met by the stagnation in the market, which has in part led to a growing pile of vehicle inventory it isn't moving as quickly as it'd like.
But the good news is Lucid is steadily ironing out its teething issues and is hopeful that its all-new Gravity SUV will be a breakthrough model that transcends the recent EV sales doldrums. So far, Lucid has been at the premium end of the EV pricing spectrum, though it recently slashed prices across most of the Air lineup. How much is a Lucid, anyway? And what do you get for that money? Check out the latest in Lucid pricing in our handy guide below.

2024 Lucid Air Pure RWD Specs
The most affordable new Lucid EV sedan you can purchase at the moment is the Air Pure, which is now limited to just offering a single-motor, rear-wheel drive powertrain (it has dropped an all-wheel drive option). This entry model hosts an 16-module, 88-kWh battery pack good for 419 miles of range, and the car puts down 430 horsepower and gets from 0 to 60 mph in a claimed 4.5 seconds.

2024 Lucid Air Pure RWD Pricing
The 2024 Lucid Air Pure RWD starts at $71,400 (including the $1,500 destination charge), following a $7,500 cut in early 2024. There's also the new addition of an available $2,500 Comfort and Convenience package, which will include a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seats (along with the standard heated front seats), soft-close doors, four-zone climate control, and power rear window sunshades. Owners can also upgrade to DreamDrive Premium ($2,000) or Pro ($6,750) driver assistance, the upgraded Surreal Sound Pro ($2,900) speaker setup, and an updated 20-way adjustable front seating ($3,750) package.

2024 Lucid Air Touring AWD Specs
To get the Air sedan with all-wheel drive, you now have to upgrade from the Pure trim to the Touring trim, which is exclusively available with dual-motor AWD . It gets a slightly larger 18-module, 92-kWh battery pack good for a targeted range of 411 miles on a charge. It boosts up to 620 horsepower through all of its wheels, and gets from 0 to 60 mph in about 3.4 seconds. It does offer both more power and claimed range than the outgoing 2023 Pure AWD trim that's no longer available to order.

2024 Lucid Air Touring AWD Pricing
The 2024 Lucid Air Touring AWD starts at $79,400, down from $87,400 previously. It's now available with its own version of the Comfort and Convenience package ($3,000) that also add heated wipers and a power-opening frunk, as well as an optional front seat upgrade ($3,750), and the same Surreal Sound and DreamDrive options as the Pure.

2024 Lucid Air Grand Touring AWD Specs and Pricing
Lucid recently announced some updates for the 2024 Lucid Air Grand Touring model, which sees a $1,000 price cut to $111,400 and retains its 22-module battery pack delivering the most range of the Air lineup (over 500 miles!), 819 hp sent through all four wheels, and a claimed zero-to-60-mph time of 3.0 seconds.

2024 Lucid Air Sapphire AWD Specs and Pricing
Lucid introduced the Air Sapphire AWD three-motor performance variant in Q3 2023, boasting 1,234 hp, a 0 to 60 mph time of a blisteringly quick 1.89 seconds with a 205 mph top speed, and an EPA-estimated 427 miles of range. Lucid's website lists the Sapphire price as $250,500 when "fully-equipped" with just about everything the automaker offers on the Air sedan line.

2024 Lucid Air Production
The updated 2024 Lucid Air Pure and Touring models are available to configure and order on the automaker's website now. As previously mentioned, more info on the 2024 Lucid Air Grand Touring, including range and price, will be announced in early 2024 when that trim becomes available for configuration and order.
- Pure RWD - $71,400
- Pure AWD - $76,400
- Touring AWD - $79,400
- Grand Touring AWD - $111,400
- Sapphire Tri-Motor AWD - $250,500

2025 Lucid Gravity SUV Specs and Pricing
While we're still waiting on final and full production details for the upcoming Lucid Gravity SUV , we do know some basics: the standard model will come with a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain good for 440 miles of range on a charge, and you'll be able to get either two- or three-row interior configurations, likely with up to seven seats.
Pricing is TBA, but we figure Lucid will start it around $80,000 to be competitive with the likes of the Rivian R1S, BMW iX, Audi e-Tron, and Mercedes EQE all-electric luxury SUVs already on sale on the market.

Are Lucid EVs Available For Tax Credits?
No current Lucid Air sedan qualifies for the U.S. government's available $7,500 federal tax credit for EVs. The rules for the tax credit stipulate that an EV sedan can't be valued at an MSRP of more than $55,000 to qualify ($80,000 for SUVs, vans, and pickup trucks). Lucid's most affordable model, the Pure, starts way above either limit at more than $80,000.
It's also unlikely that the future Lucid Gravity SUV qualifies for the federal incentive, as it will likely be priced out of the beneficial zone as well, though we'll have to wait and see where the base model lands.
