GM is teasing a new Chevrolet Camaro model on the muscles car's official Facebook page. The video was posted with a caption that simply says: "It's coming 3.16.16. Are you ready?"

The video, which seems to be shot from a bow-tie shaped hole in the front grille (Flow Tie, anyone?), shows a first-person (err, first-car) point-of-view of the new model barreling down a race track at speed. While the video is presented without any commentary, the sound of a supercharger whine and V-8 exhaust noises indicate that this could be the all-new, sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Where the fifth-generation Camaro ZL1 was powered by a 580-hp, 556-lb-ft supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V-8, we expect the sixth-generation muscle car to be powered by a version of the automaker's supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V-8 used in the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (650 hp, 650 lb-ft) and the Cadillac CTS-V sedan (640 hp, 630 lb-ft). We expect the ZL1 to make similar power to those two high-performance models.

Where the fifth-gen Camaro ZL1 was available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, we expect the new model to step up to the eight-speed auto used throughout the current Camaro lineup. Rumors of a possible 10-speed automatic for the ZL1 are also starting to swirl. GM partnered with Ford a few years ago to develop a 10-speed automatic. That jointly developed transmission will debut on the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor.
