Hennessey Takes the Ford F-150 Raptor R Beyond Bonkerdome with 1,000 HP
If the 700-horsepower Ford F-150 Raptor R isn’t enough for your off-road romp, Hennessey now offers a 1,000-hp VelociRaptoR.It's one of the quickest ways to drive in the desert, but for some, the 700-horsepower in the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R just isn't quite enough. There are those who just want to see their truck eclipse the four digit mark when it's on the dyno's rollers. For those people, Hennessey is creating a new level of performance with the 2023 Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000 promising a 1,000-hp output from the modified Ford Raptor.

Hennessey claims they can do this thanks to their previous work on the other vehicle that Ford installed their Predator 5.2 liter supercharged V-8 in—the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Their work with the Hennessey Venom 1200 resulted in a car that made over 1,200 hp when all was said and done. The goal of the VelociRaptoR 1000 is 200-hp less, but the it's still ambitious for an off-road pickup.
The Hennessey team will remove the F-150 Raptor R's stock 2.65 liter supercharger and replace it with a 3.8 liter pumper. This will be matched with a high-flow induction system, larger fuel injectors with matching fuel lines, and a new supercharger belt. When those parts are installed, the total power output will be 40 percent higher than stock to make somewhere around 1,000 hp.
That's not all that will be done to the VelociRaptoR 1000. To further differentiate it from a standard Raptor R, the Hennessey modified truck will get the VelociRaptor front and rear bumpers, a front LED light bar, and 20-inch Hennessey wheels with 37-inch tires made to traverse all the off-road terrain you can throw at it. Hennessey didn't mention what tires it would use specifically, but images point towards a set of BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires but that may change by the time it reaches production.
