Coming to America: Volvo V60 Polestar is One Wicked Wagon
The holidays are a time for giving and that's just what Volvo and racing partner Polestar have done, announcing that the cool blue S60 sedan and V60 wagon are headed to the U.S.

Although we're not getting the 508-hp S60 Polestar concept that our own Randy Pobst was able to lap around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in 1 minute, 40.8 seconds ( the fastest we've ever clocked a four-door going around MRLS), the wicked wagon is just fine. Like the S60 Polestar pre-production car we sampled earlier this year, the V60 Polestar is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter I-6 engine with 350 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque -- a modest increase over the Volvo S60 T6 AWD R-Design's 325 hp and 354 lb-ft. Additional power comes via a larger turbo, new intercooler, revised engine mapping, and a racing exhaust, and a six-speed automatic transmission is connected to new paddle shifters. We also expect the V60 to sing a beautiful Swedish song, as it's been equipped with a 2.5-inch stainless steel exhaust.
The V60 Polestar wagon uses the same Polestar-tuned Haldex all-wheel drive as the S60 Polestar sedan, as well as 80 percent stiffer shocks. The wagon has also been aerodynamically enhanced with a redesigned front splitter, new rear spoiler and diffuser that increase downforce. Volvo says the V60 Polestar can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds, and reach a limited top speed of 155 mph.
Inside, the V60 is unmistakably a Volvo, although certain things like the steering wheel and seats have been redesigned. The S60 Polestar sedan will also be available when Volvo brings them over in June 2014.
