With both the New York and Shanghai auto shows taking place simultaneously, it's a big week for car reveals. And while a lot of what's been revealed in Shanghai is only intended for the Chinese market, there's a good chance at least a few of those vehicles will end up on American roads, too. Take, for example, the Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Back in January, we reported that GM planned to bring back the Trailblazer name. At the time, we didn't have much information on what the Trailblazer would be, and even as recently as this month, all we really had to go on was a shadowy teaser. But today, Chevrolet officially revealed the Trailblazer in Shanghai, and we have to say it looks pretty cool.

If you see a lot of Blazer in the design, that's intentional. We expect the Trailblazer to be the smaller of the two, but Chevrolet says both designs were inspired by the FNR-CarryAll concept. The Trailblazer's styling is just a bit chunkier, with more of an off-road-ready (OK, soft-road-ready) look. It actually reminds us a lot of the new Honda Passport, which itself looks like a smaller, more adventurous Pilot.

Chevrolet also showed off a different small crossover that it calls the Tracker. Without seeing the two in person, it's hard to tell how much larger the Trailblazer is, but at least in photos, they look about the same size. So if Chevrolet decided to make the Tracker a China-only offering and bring the Trailblazer here to slot between the Trax and Equinox, we wouldn't be surprised. Then again, it's also possible the Tracker previews a redesigned Trax, and the Trailblazer will be offered as a more rugged alternative.

For now, Chevrolet isn't saying much about if or when either car will be announced for the U.S., only including the statement, "The all-new Trailblazer and Tracker are taking us to the next chapter of Chevrolet SUV design. With their lean muscularity, every member of the Chevrolet SUV family is reinforcing the brand's focus on performance and capability."
