2027 Mazda CX-5 Has Same Starting Price, Gets Google Gemini
While the base trim keeps its starting price, the rest of the lineup sees moderate hikes.

The Mazda CX-5 entered a new generation last year, so we weren’t expecting changes for 2027. Mazda has announced, however, that Google Built-In will come standard on the 2027 CX-5. The system includes the Gemini AI assistant, which lets drivers ask questions, give commands, and carry on conversations. It also brings Google Maps navigation directly to the vehicle’s infotainment system.

The other good news is that the base model’s starting price stays the same, while the rest of the lineup sees moderate increases. The 2027 Mazda CX-5 starts at $31,485. Here’s how the full lineup is structured, along with the price difference from the 2026 model.
As before, the 2027 CX-5 is powered by a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine producing 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Mazda says it plans to announce additional powertrain options in 2027, which can only mean the hybrid version will finally join the CX-5 lineup.
As for the trims, every version except the Premium Plus comes standard with a 12.9-inch touchscreen and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Google Built-In, including Google Maps and the updated Gemini AI assistant, is also standard. The Premium Plus is the only trim with a larger 15.6-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Mazda says the 2027 CX-5 will arrive at dealerships in the coming months. We hope the updated model also addresses the software issues we’ve experienced in our long-term 2026 Mazda CX-5. Those have included occasional screen blackouts, an SOS button that beeps shortly after the vehicle starts, and on-screen functions that temporarily become unavailable. The addition of Google Built-In could make the infotainment system more useful, but we’ll have to spend time with the updated CX-5 to see whether the software is also more reliable.
