Honda promised to make Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) performance parts available for customers’ cars, and the automaker is starting to deliver. The Honda Civic Type R, Passport, Pilot, and Acura Integra Type S are the first models to benefit from the new program, which aims to boost performance and capability. For now, only lightweight forged wheels and tuned exhaust systems are available, but Honda plans to offer more parts as it expands the program to more vehicles.

Both the wheels and exhaust systems were developed by HRC engineers—the same people who work on the company’s race cars—from IMSA to TCR—and were tested at the Nürburgring, according to Honda.

The 19x10-inch lightweight forged aluminum wheels were developed in partnership with 2elle-engineering, an Italian supplier for the Acura ARX-06. They’re exclusive to the 2023+ Civic Type R and the 2024+ Integra Type S, adding style and performance to both vehicles. Each wheel weighs 20.8 pounds, saving 5.5 pounds each over the factory wheels, which should improve handling and performance. The bronze finish pays tribute to the Honda RA272 piloted by Richie Ginther, who earned Honda’s first F1 win at the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix at the Hermanos Rodríguez circuit.

But the program isn’t limited to performance cars. The 2023+ Honda Pilot and 2026+ Passport get their own HRC-developed off-road wheels. The 18x18-inch forged aluminum wheels were developed in partnership with Titan 7, an HRC supplier for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Honda says the wheels are made from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum and forged under 10,000 tons of pressure for maximum strength and lightness. Each wheel increases load capacity by 220 pounds over the factory wheel.

The wheels are finished in Machine Black or Techna Bronze and feature Honda Racing lettering on their faces.

The Passport and Pilot also get new tuned cat-back exhaust systems. Developed in partnership with Borla, the stainless-steel systems are designed to improve performance and enhance the sound of both SUVs, according to Honda. They increase flow rate by up to six percent to bring out the V-6 engine’s sound, while Honda says the technology maintains a comfortable, relatively quiet ride on the highway.

Thanks to the exhaust’s compact design, ground clearance increases by 1.9 inches, improving off-road capability. Unique exhaust tips with the HRC logo distinguish the system from the factory exhaust.

HRC says it will continue to expand its performance parts portfolio and use this year’s SEMA Show to showcase some of the prototypes it’s working on, including adjustable coilovers with camber plates, Brembo brake kits, and short-throw shifters.
