The Civic Sport-L is added to the sedan and hatchback lineup as the most equipped gas variant.

The Honda Civic heads into 2027 with a modest price increase, a new trim, and a little more Prelude-style flair. The sedan now starts at $26,290, while the hatchback starts at $29,490. Honda has added the Sport-L to both lineups and brought the Prelude’s S+ Shift feature to the Civic Sport Touring Hybrid.

The new Sport-L sits at the top of the Civic’s gas-powered lineup, bringing several comfort and convenience upgrades. It adds leather seats, heated power front seats, dual-zone climate control, illuminated vanity mirrors, and silver-colored interior trim. The Sport-L sedan starts at $29,790, while the hatchback starts at $30,990.

That gives shoppers another step between the entry-level gas trims and the hybrids. In the sedan lineup, the LX and Sport are the gas-powered choices below the Sport-L, while the Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid bring the more premium features. For hatchback buyers, the Sport-L joins the Sport as the second gas-powered option.

There’s also a new twist for the Sport Touring Hybrid. Honda’s S+ Shift, a feature that debuted on the Honda Prelude coupe, is making its way into the Civic. It uses eight simulated gears and paddle shifters to give the hybrid powertrain the sound and sensation of a dual-clutch transmission. We found the Prelude’s shifts a little too artificial, especially in feel, so we’re curious to see whether Honda has tuned the system differently for the Civic. Either way, it’s an intriguing addition, and one we’d like to see in more Hondas.

Prices for existing trims rise by $300, which is a relatively small adjustment at a time when inflation and tariffs are pushing costs higher across the industry, and it helps keep the Civic competitive.

Here’s the pricing across the 2027 Civic trims:
