The 2027 Genesis GV70 Prestige Graphite Rocks the Blues

GV70 will be the second Genesis model to get the upscale Prestige Graphite treatment.

At last fall’s L.A. auto show, Genesis introduced a new trim line called Prestige Graphite for its G70 sport sedan. This year in New York, Genesis adds a “V” to the new lineup, in the form of the GV70 Prestige Graphite.

Graphite has always meant gray to us, but for the GV70 Prestige Graphite, you should be thinking blue—specifically Bering Blue and Ceres Blue Matte, the two very grayish blue (or perhaps we should say bluish gray) paint colors in which the GV70 Prestige Graphite will be offered. Also like the G70, the GV70 will be trimmed with smoked chrome and gloss black elements.

Inside, the Genesis compact luxury SUV shares the G70’s Ultramarine Nappa leather with suede inserts, and the interior is decorated with carbon fiber trim, a set of red seatbelts, and red stitching throughout the cabin. The GV70 already has the 3D gauge package that was added to the G70 Prestige Graphite, so in its place the SUV gets unique startup graphics in the screens. The G70 also got a lowered sport suspension; unfortunately, the GV70 gets no such lowering, though it does get red brake calipers. (The GV70 won’t stop any shorter, but it’ll look good doing it.)

Genesis has not announced pricing for the GV70, but the G70 Prestige Graphite carried a $3,300 premium over the regular Sport Prestige model. Allowing for a price bump for the new year, that’d put the GV70 Prestige Graphite at around $65,000 with the 2.5T engine and $76,000 with the optional 3.3-liter twin-turbo V-6. In this economy, that’s likely to have many would-be Genesis buyers singing the blues.
