Love or Hate? The New-Look 2027 Chrysler Pacifica Minivan Is Revealed
The Pacifica’s new look is an “interesting” choice if we’re being polite.
When it comes to minivans, there really isn’t much of a market for them these days, with only four brands building the former American family staple. But the Chrysler Pacifica continues to roll out as dutifully as it did when it debuted in 2017. Although the overall design hasn’t changed in 10 years, it has seen at least one face-lift back in 2021. It seems that six years was more than enough time for the company to update its minivan and, well, it’s something.

Since the Pacifica is hitting a full decade of production on the same platform, we’re a bit surprised Chrysler didn’t feel it was time for a ground-up redesign. Instead, it looks like we’re getting another face-lift for the 2027 model year, as revealed via the Detroit carmaker’s Instagram and Facebook pages. To our eyes, it’s a face only its mother could love. Don’t get us wrong, the idea of upside-down L-shaped headlights can work, just as it does with the Kia Carnival. But we can’t say the same for the Pacifica as it looks tacked on.
Meanwhile, the body crease at the front bumper that leads to the wheelwell creates an angular look and seems out of place with the rounder shape found across the rest of the bodywork. We’re surprised the Airflow concept’s nose wasn’t the direction Chrysler took for the 2027 Pacifica. It’s a clean and mostly original layout that would have worked easily with the minivan’s established shape. It certainly appears to be the start of the inspiration for the 2027 model, as the upper grille features a very similar look and the blending of the headlights into it is also an indication that Chrysler’s designers were trying to fit it onto the minivan. But then they added those upside-down L headlights and muddied what would have been a classy yet evolutionary look to the front nose.
As of now, these are the only images Chrysler has shared of the 2027 Pacifica, but more details are sure to follow soon.
