2026 Ford Bronco Sport First Look: A Lot Less Stuff, But at Least It’s Cheaper

The Ford Bronco Sport is a charming and very capable compact SUV that’s good to drive and more capable than you can imagine off-road. Especially the Badlands trim, which you might find crawling on many of the same trails as its bigger (and mechanically unrelated) sibling, the Bronco.

Now, like the 2026 Bronco, the Bronco Sport has received updates to its features and pricing. Read on for the rundown.

Exterior Updates and Optional Features

When Ford announced a first batch of updates to the model last month, Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat was the only new paint added to the palette. Now, that bright hue is now joined by Space White Metallic, another popular Ford color. Depending on the lighting, this distinctive white with subtle silver-blue overtones can shift from a cool, metallic-flake finish to a silvery gray. On Outer Banks models, the door handles have also changed from body color to molded-in-color as standard.

For buyers who aren’t sold on the integrated front fender tie-downs, Ford has made them a standalone option. They still require either the Black Diamond Off-Road or Sasquatch packages but now ask an additional $495. The change does lower the Black Diamond package to $1,500 and the Sasquatch package to $2,395. The Sasquatch bundle no longer includes a front brush guard with integrated recovery hook, although it remains available as a $395 option for Black Diamond- and Sasquatch-equipped models.

Tech and Interior

Ford also made several changes to interior content and technology, starting with the removal of the wireless charging pad and universal garage door opener across all trim levels. So, bring your charging cable and your garage remote. For 2026, Big Bend, Heritage, and Outer Banks trims also lose the standard 12.3-inch digital cluster display, which has been replaced by a smaller 8.0-inch unit. Buyers who still want the larger screen can get it as part of the Sasquatch Outer Banks Package.

The Badlands trim, along with any package that included it, also loses the front-row center console interior grab handle. Outer Banks models no longer come with rain-sensing wipers. Meanwhile, the liftgate-mounted adjustable flood lights that were previously standard on the Big Bend have been moved into the Convenience package for the base trim. That package also adds an eight-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a wrapped steering wheel, all for $1,800.

On the technology side, every 2026 Bronco Sport now comes standard with a 5G modem, and Ford’s new Connectivity package is intended to take advantage of the faster wireless connection. It is included at no extra cost for one year, while buyers can also choose a seven-year connection for a one-time $745 purchase.

Ford is also including a complimentary one-year activation of the Ford Security package across all trims. The service allows owners to monitor their Bronco Sport through the FordPass app with features such as theft alerts, start inhibit, stolen vehicle services, and deductible reimbursement. After the first year, the service can be renewed for $7.99 per month or $79.95 per year.

For buyers who want SiriusXM access through both the internal satellite receiver and the new 5G connection, a three-year subscription to SiriusXM with 360L is available as a one-time $300 purchase.

Badlands Gets Cheaper and Bronze-r

Speaking of the Bronco Sport Badlands, the extremely capable compact off-roader is now $2,850 cheaper. Now starting at $39,260, the price cut comes at least in part from dropping many standard luxury-adjacent features such as the heated steering wheel, six-way power passenger seat, memory driver’s seat and sideview mirror, and remote start. To get those items now, you’ll need to equip the Badlands Tech Package for $2,295. The ActiveX seating with perforated inserts is still included, as are the 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4, eight-speed automatic transmission, and twin-clutch rear differential.

A new option for the 2026 Sport Badlands is the Bronze Appearance Package that was teased late last year. It costs $1,500 and cannot be combined with the $2,395 Sasquatch Badlands package. That’s kind of a shame, as bronze can look just as good in the wild as on the street.

2026 Bronco Sport Pricing Is Also Reduced for Some Models

The most basis Bronco Sport, the Big Bend, now costs $33,840, $850 more than last year. The other trims are less expensive, though, including the Heritage ($600 cheaper, now $35,390) and the Outer Banks ($1,350 cheaper, now $37,140). The latter adds body-color door handles, if that’s something you’re looking for. The Free Wheeling model has been discontinued.

Some Big Bronco Options Appear on the Sport

The same Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat paint now offered on the big Bronco is now on the Bronco Sport menu, for $995. Another similar new option for the smaller Bronco Sport is the SecuriCode keypad. This $195 add-on is well familiar to longtime Ford owners and allows owners to access their vehicle without the need for their keys or even the Ford app.

Also new is the 400-Watt Pro Power Onboard inverter, an optional add-on for powering devices that require AC electricity. It’s also not an expensive option at $175. And if you’re getting the Sasquatch pack and willing to sacrifice the sunglasses storage in the overhead console, you can add a set of auxiliary switches that are pre-wired and ready to activate various 12-volt items.

Fog lights are no longer available on the base Big Bend (they were previously part of the Convenience package) but you can can get a mini spare tire and steel wheel for $395 on that trim as well as the Heritage and Outer Banks. All models except the Heritage can be specced with a $395 front brush guard, provided you’ve also ordered the Black Diamond Off-Road package for the Big Bend or the Sasquatch package for the Outer Banks and Badlands.
