2025 Lexus GX SUV Gets Even More Off-Road-ier
The Overtrail and Overtrail+ models are now more trail-ready than before.
Need a little lift this morning? Lexus has announced the 2025 GX550 Overtrail and Overtrail+ models now come with a 1-inch suspension lift relative to their Premium and Luxury trim level alternatives. The GX was all-new for 2024, with a pleasantly boxy appearance, new twin-turbo V-6 engine, and Lexus's first-ever Overtrail off-road trim levels (the "+" version carries even more features). Curiously, despite those Overtrail models' all-terrain tires, Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS—essentially disconnecting anti-roll bars), and Crawl Control low-speed traction management setup, they sat just as high off the ground as other GXs.

That's no longer the case. With the newly announced 1-inch lift, the 2025 Lexus GX550 Overtrail and Overtrail+ models now come in at 9.84 inches of ground clearance—well above the 8.66-inch clearance it shared with lesser GXs before. While this lift doesn't improve the GX550 Overtrails' off-road specs generally (the approach, departure, and breakover angles remain the same 26, 22, and 24 degrees as before, as does the 27.56-inch wading depth), no off-roader will ever turn down a little more airspace between their undercarriage and some rocks.
The only other changes of note for 2025 GXs are minor: A power-adjustable steering column and memory function for it, the driver's seat, and mirrors is standard across the line; also, the Overtrail models get pre-wiring for auxiliary switches and a standard air compressor.
2025 Lexus GX Pricing
Prices for the 2025 GX move up slightly, with the biggest increases hitting the models most upgraded (the Overtrails). Entry-level GX550 Premium and Premium+ versions start at $65,285 and $69,750, MSRPs that are $1,035 and $500 higher than before. The GX550 Luxury and Luxury+ cost $500 more than last year, while the Overtrail and Overtrail+ see big jumps of $3,680 and $3,145.
