The hottest 2025 Ford Mustang GTD muscle car that isn't even here yet just got hotter. In case you missed it, the Mustang GTD (the highest performance trim available of the muscle car) just lapped the German Nürburgring in less than seven minutes, and to celebrate that and other Mustang achievements that don't include being on sale yet, there's now the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Spirit of America edition.

“Mustang GTD wouldn't have been possible without people like Craig Breedlove, pushing the edge of the envelope and challenging the Goliaths of the day in an all-American way," says Mustang GTD Brand Manager Jim Owens. Engineering tech Craig Breedlove broke the 500- and 600-mile-per-hour barriers on land. He didn't do it in a Mustang, but his vehicles were named the Spirit of America, which has now inspired Ford for its fastest pony car, capable of 202 mph, the fastest 'Stang ever.

A base of Performance White paint is complimented in patriotic American colors Race Red and Lightning Blue in the racing stripes. Aero elements get exposed carbon fiber to show off the lightweighting and air-cutting design of the GTD. Exposed carbon elements include the spoiler and front and rear splitters. You can get Race Red or exposed carbon accents on the side mirrors. Inside, black seats get a red middle stripe and white trimmings on the sides, with blue contrast stitching and blue accent elements throughout the cabin. 3D-printed titanium elements on the shift ring, badging, and paddle shifters is an option. Power remains at a whopping 815 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque.

It's unclear when the Mustang GTD and GTD Spirit of America editions will be delivered. Previous estimates were marked at mid-2025, but we're still waiting...
