The year 2025 marks the 60th anniversary of the iconic Ford Mustang nameplate, and the Blue Oval is not missing out on the opportunity to celebrate with the expected limited-edition appearance package. We get it, appearance packages are... almost cliché, but where some might see a low-effort cash grab, others appreciate the unique, celebratory (and possibly collectible) nature of anniversary edition vehicles. We’re not going to tell you which side to fall on, but we do think this Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary package is worth a look.

As the name suggests, the design for the package is inspired by the 1965 (okay, '64 1/2) Ford Mustang as it was shown at the 1964 World’s Fair in Flushing, New York. "We took inspiration from the original Mustang and applied some of the most special design elements to the latest in this limited production run," says Matt Simpson, Ford Enthusiast Vehicles general manager. “Mustang’s design DNA has never been stronger or more enduring than this multi-generational tribute.”

Beyond the obligatory 60th Anniversary badges on the fenders, trunk lid, and instrument panel, the special Mustang also includes a set of exclusive 20-inch wheels finished in Dark Gravity Grey with a Vermillion Red stamped aluminum center caps designed to replicate those from the original Mustang.

A set of side graphic decals inspired by the original Mustang’s rocker panel stripes are also included and can be had in Iconic Silver or Vermillion Red. The graphics read “60 years,” to drive home the point that the Mustang is celebrating its diamond jubilee.

The package includes an exclusive mesh grille with silver accented “nostrils” which is another throwback to the first Mustang. The air intakes in the front are functional, but more on that later. Flanking the exclusive grill are smoked housing “Nite Pony” headlights.

The package can be had in three colors: Wimbledon White, Race Red, or Vapor Blue. Race Red and Vapor Blue cars get Iconic Silver-colored side mirror caps while the Wimbledon White cars will get color matched caps. Three interior color options are available including Space Grey, Carmine Red, or Black Onyx.

The Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary package is only available for GT Premium trims with the 5.0-liter V-8 engine, hence the functional air intakes. The package can be had on either the coupe or convertible models and with both automatic and manual transmissions.

In another nod to the Mustang’s origin, only 1,965 examples of the 60th Anniversary package will be produced. Ford says orders for the package will open up this summer with deliveries happening in the fourth quarter of 2024. We don’t have pricing information yet but expect that to come in a few months closer to the on-sale date.
