2023 Nissan Ariya Prices Come Out, and Reservations Are Now Open

The long-anticipated 2023 Nissan Ariya electric SUV is finally open for reservations. According to Nissan, the sizable delay between our seeing the Ariya for the first time and its finalization for production can be chalked up to the supply issues plaguing everything from computers to cars and anything in between that needed to be shipped or supplied from overseas. Now, the new Nissan finally will see the light of day...a year from now.

Arriving in the fall of 2022 with three front-wheel-drive trims and a single all-wheel-drive variant starting at just over $47,000, the Ariya is open for ordering. You can reserve your very own electric Nissan SUV with a $500 refundable deposit.

Which Ariyas Come With What?

The 2023 Nissan Ariya starts at $47,075 for the Venture Plus trim, the single-motor, front-drive entry model. With its liquid-cooled, 87-kWh battery and 238-hp, 221-lb-ft drive motor, the Venture Plus is expected to deliver around 300 miles of range. That seems short-ish among today's EV offerings, but the Ariya will also get a 130-kW DC fast charge rate, putting the charging time from zero to 100 percent to just over 40 minutes and zero to 80 percent charge to just over 32 minutes.

This entry-level Ariya also comes standard with six-way power front seats for its "lounge like premium interior;" LED headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights; an illuminated "Nissan" badge just like the ones you've probably seen on many Benzes lately; a leather-wrapped steering wheel; ambient cabin lighting; four USB charge ports with two in the front and two for the rear; NissanConnect EV with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto; dual-zone automatic climate control with second row air vents; and over-the-air firmware updates.

Next up in the lineup is the Ariya Evolve Plus, which comes in at $50,125 and has exactly the same motor and battery pack, but adds a power panoramic moonroof, power liftgate, LED fog lights, auto-sensor wipers, eight-way power front seats, HomeLink universal garage door transceiver, wireless device charging, motorized glove box, intelligent rear view mirror and around view monitor, and underfloor storage.

The top-of-the-line FWD model is the Premiere, which will only be available to those who participate in the advance reservation program. It is the only front-drive Ariya model to get the ProPILOT Assist 2.0 and ProPILOT Park features, as well as exclusive 19-inch wheels with aero covers with color treatment, illuminated "Premiere" kick plates, and "Premiere" emblems. It comes in at $54,625 without the $500 deposit.

The ultimate version of the 2023 Nissan Ariya is the Platinum Plus e-4ORCE AWD (yep, that's Nissan's name for the all-wheel drive) with an MSRP of $60,125. It gets the dual-motor e-4ORCE AWD setup that makes a combined 389 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. With the 87-kWh battery, it gets around 265 miles of usable range. It's also similar to the Premiere trim in terms of equipment but adds the all-important "e-4ORCE" badge, Nappa leather seating surfaces, active sound control, memory and LED turn signal outside mirrors, motion activated liftgate, a power tilting and telescoping steering wheel, cooled and memory front seats, multi-color illumination, Bose Premium audio with 10 speakers, and optional 20-inch aluminum wheels.

How To Make The Deposit and the Perks

If you want in on any of the 2023 Nissan Ariya models, you'll need to go to NissanUSA.com/ariya/reserve and create a MyNissan account. Then you build out your Ariya on the configurator before finally placing that refundable $500 deposit. You then pay the full price after it's delivered to your Nissan dealer that specializes in EV sales. From there you pick it up or have it delivered to your home through Nissan@Home.

However, there is more to the deposit process than being able to opt for the Premiere model. If you're one of the first 10,000 reservations before January 31, 2022, you also get a two-year membership to EVgo for free as well as $500 in charging credits after purchasing your 2023 Ariya. According to Nissan, that's "worth up to an estimated 5,000 miles of EV driving for the Ariya Venture Plus." Not bad.

For now, that's all the news on the 2023 Ariya. While a 67-kWh battery pack version has been mentioned, "Pricing for additional Ariya models will be announced at a later date," Nissan notes in its press release on the electric crossover.
