The second-generation Scion tC, which debuted for the 2011 model year and was refreshed in 2014, soldiers on for 2016 with just a few updates. Prices for the 2016 Scion tC begin at $20,180, or $200 more than last year's version.

Starting prices apply to tC models equipped with the six-speed manual transmission. Opting for the six-speed automatic brings total costs up to $21,330. Like last year, the Scion tC comes equipped with a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine producing 179 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque.

For 2016, the sports coupe receives a new standard audio system with a 7-inch Pioneer touchscreen, HD radio, Bluetooth hands-free capability and audio streaming, voice recognition, and the Aha Internet radio app. Smart Key with push-button start and a standard rear windshield wiper provide some basic conveniences that were missing from the lineup previously. Silver door handles, a new center console tray cover, and a leather-wrapped shift knob are also new for the 2016 model year.

Big changes are coming to the neglected Scion brand in the coming months. The Scion tC arrives in dealerships this August. A month later, Scion will bring the new 2016 iA sedan and 2016 iM hatchback to market. These models are priced at $16,495 and $19,255, respectively.
