2016 Kia Optima Revealed Before New York Auto Show

Kia has completely unveiled the 2016 Optima ahead of its official debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show next week.

From the single image Kia has released, we see that the automaker has made subtle changes to the car's front end. It still offers a bold tiger nose grille, but the shape of the headlights and other elements have been altered. Until the show, Kia is releasing few other details on the new model.

"Available with multiple engine choices, the all-new Optima features a more spacious interior, class-up premium features and a number of technologies not previously offered on Kia's best-selling mid-size sedan," Kia said in a press release this week.

The third-generation Optima debuted for the 2011 model year, and Kia has only made minor trim level 2015 Kia Optima Receives Minor Updates, Upgraded UVO System" target="_blank">changes to the model since then. The current Optima features a choice of a 192-hp 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine or a 274-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four. An Optima Hybrid model is also available, bringing a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder paired with a lithium polymer battery and electric motor for a total of 199 hp.
