First, Williams speaks with owner Tim Lenig, who started building his Model A back in 1977. While the exterior sports many design cues from the Model A, much of the off-roader's drivetrainwas sourced from a 1973 Ford Bronco. Lenig ensures his rig is ready for the tough trails thanks to a number of common off-roader modifications including a Dana 44 axle, Fox shocks, five-point seatbelt harnesses, and an auxiliary transmission cooler.
After getting the lowdown on the 1929 Model A, Williams and Lenig head to the Line Mountain off-road course. There, the special off-roader is put to the test as it climbs near vertical inclines, powers through muddy trails, and crawls over big boulders.
