2015 Land Rover LR4 Gets App Integration, Lower Price

It's not often that prices go down for a new model year, but on the 2015 Land Rover LR4, even taking into account the modestly higher destination charge of $925, starting prices have gone down across the board by $165. And by all appearances, this price cut is not from de-contenting, as the new model has gained standard side steps and Land Rover's InControl Apps and smartphone integration. Prices for 2015, including $925 destination, are $51,325 for the entry-level LR4, $56,225 for the HSE model, and $61,525 for the HSE Lux model.

Other changes for 2015 Land Rover LR4 include a fourth available 20-inch wheel design, four new exterior colors, and new interior trim options. The new colors are Aruba, Kaikoura Stone, Montalcino Red, and a new metallic white called Yulong. Available supported apps for the InControl system include iHeart Radio, Stitcher, Glympse, Sygic, Parkopedia, Hotelseeker, Cityseeker, Eventseeker, and voice-conference app MobileDay.

No major mechanical changes have been made for the new model year, with the Land Rover LR4 continuing to be powered by a 3.0L supercharged V-6 producing 340 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic. A single-speed all-wheel-drive system is standard, with a two-speed "heavy-duty" system with a low-range available. The engine has an auto stop-start system to help improve economy, which at 15 city and 19 highway is less-than-stellar, but considering the LR4's substantial 5,655-pound curb weight, it’s not surprising.
