Dodge Puts Next-Gen Charger on Santa's Naughty List
We take a closer look at an intriguing page in the story of the upcoming muscle car.If there is one release that has capturedthe imaginations of Dodge fans, it's the upcoming Dodge Charger. It's going back to its two-door roots—sorry, Challenger—but we're coming to understand that the next muscle car will have both internal combustion and fully electric powertrains, with something in between also possible. After a long tease with a concept car, there is now a holiday themed Dodge that seems to drop the latest hint that the 2024 Charger is on its way, and will look a lot like that Daytona SRT concept.

There's only one small problem with the vehicle on this page: It's not quite real. We asked Dodge if the red car that appears in the ad is an "arted-up" image of the eventual production model driving through snow. While a Dodge representative wouldn't comment, a close source familiar with the 2024 Dodge Charger told us it's just an artistic rendering of the concept cars we've already seen.
That means, despite the "Preproduction model shown for illustration purposes only" followed by the more foreshadowing "Available in 2024" tiny print warnings in the ad, it might not be the conformation on the final design of the upcoming Charger we were hoping for, even though it looks a lot like the Charger Daytona SRT EV concept blended with a body-in-white for the new coupe spotted in a factory recently.
For now, we'll just have to wait. And probably not long. Again, as the ad notes, "Available late 2024" means a production model should be shown soon.
