2025 GMC SUV Lineup: Starring the Redesigned Terrain and Updated Yukon
A year after introducing a new Acadia, the American automaker now revises its entry-level model.

GMC’s lineup finally feels fresh across the board. After introducing a new-generation Acadia for 2024, the purveyor of upscale trucks and SUVs has given the same treatment to the entry-level Terrain. At the other end of the range, the full-size Yukon and oversized Yukon XL SUVs receive a major refresh. What’s more, shoppers in the market for a gargantuan electric car can spring for the Hummer EV SUV. For all changes to the 2025 GMC SUV lineup, read on.

2025 GMC Terrain: What’s New
The redesigned 2025 GMC Terrain serves as the stylish and rugged-looking entry point to the automaker’s SUV lineup. GMC restyled the Terrain’s bodywork with a new grille, bumpers, headlights, and taillights. A raked-back windshield improves aerodynamics, while the rear window is more upright.
Interior design changes take influence from GMC’s other products. The central 15-inch vertical screen has been added from the larger Acadia, with a floating volume knob affixed to the display. There’s a row of hard buttons along the bottom edge for climate control. The small GMC SUV also gets a configurable 11.0-inch instrument display. Google built-in apps such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store come standard, but GMC still offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with wireless connectivity. The dashboard is dressed with a soft, stitched trim that continues onto the doors and center console. Bright chrome accents contribute to a more upscale cabin than before, especially when outfitted in the leather-lined Denali guise.
The old model’s SLE and SLT trims are gone, replaced by a new Elevation grade. Standard convenience features include remote start, adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. GMC bundles a total of 15 active safety features, with new equipment including blind-zone steering assist, enhanced automatic emergency braking that can now identify pedestrians and bicyclists and other hazards in intersections, automatic rear braking for cross traffic and other obstacles, and side bicyclist alert.
Other options offered on the 2025 Terrain include a two-tone contrast roof paint scheme (silver over black, but black over every other available color option), AutoSense presence-based (instead of foot-kick-based) power liftgate, a camera-based rearview mirror, and a 360-degree camera with eight views. GMC discontinued the pre-redesigned model’s Elevation package in accordance with the new trim structure but has added a Black package with 19-inch wheels, dark exterior trim, and black badging. Ticking the box for the Premium package outfits the interior with CoreTec faux leather, wireless charging, and a universal garage door opener. The exterior comes with roof rails and 19-inch silver wheels.
Powertrain changes are minimal for the new-generation Terrain; the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder carries over with its output of 175 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel-drive models come with a CVT while all-wheel-drive models receive an eight-speed automatic transmission. You select a gear with the new column-mounted stalk rather than the frustrating push/pull buttons from before. There’s also a soft-roader AT4 variant of the Terrain with standard AWD, 17-inch tires wearing all-terrain rubber, a mild suspension lift, red tow hooks, skidplates, hill descent control, and a terrain-select mode. Finally, the high-end Denali model gets chrome bright exterior trim, 19- or 20-inch wheels, heated rear seats, and ventilated front seats.

2025 GMC Acadia: What’s New
The midsize Acadia just received a major redesign for 2024, making it longer, wider, and taller than before. Interior space improved, as did the Acadia’s tech and safety equipment. It also benefited from a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a 2.5-liter mill developing a healthy 328 hp and 326 lb-ft of torque.
In spite of the SUV’s freshness, the 2025 GMC Acadia receives several updates. Standard equipment includes a rear seat reminder, eight-passenger seating, a seat adjuster for the front passenger’s power lumbar support, and front-row seat belt restraint tensioners. GMC also equips a vehicle health management system that provides advanced warning of issues. There’s a new 18-inch wheel option, as well.
GMC adds a new Premium package for the Elevation trim. Ticking the box for this suite of features adds seven-passenger seating, a choice of After Dark or Gideon Gray CoreTec seating, a six-way power passenger seat with lumbar support, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, 20-inch aluminum wheels, and a universal garage door opener. There are also a slew of dealer-installed features including black GMC emblems, a black nameplate kit, an illuminated front GMC emblem, illuminated perimeter rocker lighting, molded or painted assist steps, illuminated door sills, roof rack cross rails, wheel locks, lug nuts, center caps, and 22-inch wheels.
There are a few deleted features, as well. GMC eliminates its three-year plans for OnStar Remote Access and Premium. The 170-amp alternator has also been discontinued along with the 3.49 final drive ratio axle. Finally, GMC’s dealer-installed trailer hitch has been discontinued.

Revised interior design elements include a column-mounted shifter that replaces the push-button shifter, a new 16.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a second-row 8.0-inch climate control touchscreen.
Mechanical changes are minimal, but the Duramax diesel 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder gets more power, to the tune of 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque.
GMC adds a new Elevation trim in the place of the basic SLE and SLT models, in accordance with the array of new standard features and enhanced luxury. Off-road-oriented AT4 trims are now available with the strengthened diesel engine. GMC also offers a new AT4 Ultimate with 20-inch wheels and four-corner adaptive air suspension that can add 2.0 inches of extra ground clearance. Interior options include full-grain leather seats, Ash Burl wood, open-pore wood, and a leather-trimmed steering wheel.
The upscale Denali trim receives a second-row executive seating option. GMC also introduces a new top-end Denali Ultimate model with 24-inch wheels, massaging power 16-way front seats with heating and ventilation, second-row executive captain’s chairs, new interior wood trim with chrome accents, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and an available 22-speaker Bose audio setup.
