Three Kuhl Ways to Modify the New Toyota Prius
Kuhl Racing of Japan brings a trio of modified Prius to Tokyo’s Auto Salon.Toyota's revamp of the long-running Prius had everyone talking as the seemingly faceless, A-to-B toaster was suddenly transformed into a sleek, low-slung looker. The aftermarket has taken notice and there are some aero parts being produced, but one Japanese brand has already created three different aero kits.

Kuhl Racing (pronounced "cool") is well known for creating sculpted aero kits for a variety of cars, most notably Nissan's R35 GT-R, which the brand showcased at Tokyo Auto Salon and SEMA. Part of the allure of their R35 was the incredibly intricate engraving applied to every metal panel on the car.
This time around they've brought 18 demo vehicles to the massive industry show, most of them draped in a classy gold hue, and three of which are Toyota Prius.
The 60Prius Kruise KR-60PRR doesn't get the gold treatment but maintains its original color as it serves as an entry level of sorts into Kuhl's Prius aero line up. Already announced, Kuhl says they've received quite a few orders for the kit.
Falling under the "lip kit" style aero set up, the Kuhl pieces attach to the factory front and rear bumpers, and rockers, adding a sharp, angular addition to the modern Prius. Maintaining a streamlined look, the design keeps the additions close to the body, providing ample ground clearance.
A three-piece rear wing emphasizes the factory body lines above the taillights, and their demo vehicle uses air suspension to bring the body down enough to cover the split spoke wheels' upper portion.
