As of late, it seems like the Super Street Network revolves solely around engine-swapped builds after our visit to this year's SEMA return. Thrashing through the content to get stories out to you, we've covered a Judd V-10-powered Supra intended for Time Attack competition along with a Mercedes diesel-swapped E46 wagon turned drift taxi. And you know the swap list had to include the celebrated 2JZ, of which we found under the hood of a NissanS14 as well as perhaps the wildest of the bunch: a Lamborghini Gallardo sporting a huge turbo atop its built Toyota transplant.

It's the Quiet Ones You Should Worry About

All of the above-mentioned builds have a wild appearance, and once you take a closer look it's not a huge surprise to find they've been blessed with a cross-platform swap. This 2014 Audi S4 on the other hand is going to surprise most that encounter it. Sure, it's got some graphics along the rear sides, which make sense being that it was employed to stand front and center and represent 034Motorsport in a shared space with partners Racingline Performance and EMPI during SEMA week. Remove those stickers and you're left with a rather mild appearance and one that in no way clues you in to its twin turbo V-8 swap.

The paintwork that you're seeing is a factory Audi color from their Exclusive line called Dark Red Mica and similar to its surprise swap, what appears almost black in low light, shows as a deep red under direct sunlight, fooling most that catch a glance in passing. Under the hood once sat a factory issue supercharged V-6 that fired through Audi's AWD system and was potent right out of the box. 034Motorsport offers a full array of performance parts to further enhance that native 3.0-liter, however, the temptation to introduce an additional liter and a pair of pistons is understandably tough to push aside. Plucking the 4.0-liter V-8 from an Audi S6 and cradling it between the shoulders of the S4 allows this creation to produce over 400 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque right from the get-go.

If you know your Audi's then the V-8 engine cover gives things away, but if you're not well-versed you'd assume a few bolt-ons were added and all is fairly stock based on fitment, the level of workmanship, and the full use of factory ancillary parts. What you can spot is 034's open-element intake with carbon fiber heat shield and behind the engine itself sits a beefy billet aluminum shock tower brace.

Those few items you can see are far overshadowed by that which you cannot. 034Motorsport tells us this demo car utilizes every single one of their suspension and chassis upgrade options currently in production. Visit the S4 dedicated portion of their website and realize that's a ton of parts. There are five pages of support for the chassis that includes small, effective upgrades like their aluminum rear differential carrier mounts, to their Density Line control arms, driveshaft tunnel bracing, and so much more.

The group also offers their own wheel line, and their ZTF-01 forged model in 19x9.3 +35 was chosen for this build and set inside of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The matte anthracite finish works nicely with the unique body color and these wheels were developed specifically to maximize tire fitment without having to resort to fender rolling.
