2026 Volvo V60 Expert Review
Reviewed by Bob Hernandez
Despite our best efforts, the share of station wagons on the new vehicle market continues to shrink. One of the last few to fight that good fight is the Volvo V60, one of two wagons still offered by the Swedish luxury car brand.
Only one version of the V60 returns this year, carried over from last year with few changes. The V60’s only recent direct luxury wagon competitor, the Audi A4 Allroad, was discontinued last year, so small luxury SUVs like the BMW X2 and Lexus UX are now its only rivals.
What’s New
Aurora Silver and Forest Lake are new exterior colors. Volvo also retires Platinum Gray, Silver Dawn, and Fusion Red.
The V60 Polestar Engineered plug-in hybrid model has been discontinued. That leaves the V60 Cross Country with its B5 AWD powertrain as the lineup’s only model.
What We Think
The station wagon may be a dying breed, but the V60 keeps the spirit alive with the rugged Cross Country variant, which offers stylish design, a spacious, upscale cabin, SUV-like practicality, good ride comfort, and plenty of tech, though we wish performance and handling were more engaging.
With the related S60 sedan discontinued, as well as the Polestar Engineered PHEV version, the V60’s days may be numbered. Those intrigued by its blend of versatility and design should consider acting soon.

MPGs and Range
Fuel economy ratings for the 2.0-liter turbo mild hybrid V60 are 24/31 mpg city/highway and 27 mpg combined, equating to roughly 429 miles of driving range. That’s not as good as the now-discontinued V60 T8 plug-in hybrid, which returns 74 mpg-e for 530 miles of range including an estimated 40 miles of all-electric driving.
