2026 Ford F-350 Expert Review

When you've gotta have a dually, the 2026 Ford F-350 Super Duty is one of the only options around. As part of the 2026 Ford F-Series Super Duty lineup, the F-350 SRW and DRW are capable and, if you're not careful with options, can balloon to more than $100,000 as equipped.

Rivals include the Ram 3500, a truck we especially like, plus the Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD and GMC Sierra 3500HD.

What's New

Basics

  • Lariat Premium package: A full 96 percent of all heavy-duty truck owners tow, so this one should be a popular package. On Lariat Crew Cab 4WD models with the 7.3-liter gas V-8, it includes Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, Trailer Reverse Guidance, Co-Pilot360 2.0 driver assist tech, running boards, and power-sliding tinted glass with a defrost feature.
  • SuperCab Short Box is back: To cover more of the market, Ford is again offering the 148-inch-wheelbase SuperCab/6.5-foot short-box combo.
  • Diesel-powered Tremor: Heavy-duty truck customers are more likely than half-ton truck owners to go diesel; that's why the F-150 no longer offers a diesel and why the 2026 F-Series Super Duty offers a diesel-powered Tremor option.

Exterior

  • The STX Appearance package can be optioned on F-350 Dually models, with body-color bumpers, a painted grille, badging, and interior updates.

Interior

  • Ford Connectivity package: A new seven-year one-time purchase option is now available.

What We Think

It's hard to argue with a heavy-duty truck that offers a 500-hp Power Stroke diesel with 1,200 lb-ft of torque, and yet here we are. The 2026 Ford F-350 is a good truck, but there's room for improvement.

Certainly, Ford has checked off the capability box.

In our testing, we found the F-350 plenty capable, though the 7.3-liter gas V-8 felt a little sluggish. Still, a firm brake pedal is a plus, and Ford has introduced a number of helpful driver tech features over the years. For example, an Onboard Scales and Smart Hitch can tell you if your truck is overloaded, and there's trailer-hitch assist tech.

Where the experience goes sour is when you actually drive the truck. The ride is busy, and the steering could be more accurate. At this point, we're also ready for a change in design.

With the 2026 Super Duty, it's about priorities. If you're willing to forgo a better driving experience, you may find elsewhere to get maximum capability and cool tech, the F-350 could be a good fit.
